So, this month I had the request to do Draco Malfoy. But for a long time I haven't really liked the limbless blobs that I've been making. So, I decided to make a new basic body pattern. Also with this pattern you can make the rest of the Harry Potter charactors along with any other charactor you might come up with. (sorry, by the way, for the bad picture quality)Notions: G hook
Skin colored yarn
Tapestry Needle
Stitch Marker
Pattern:
Legs(make two)- Ch 2, sc 8 in second ch from hook.
Rnd 1: inc around
Rnds 2-4: sc around
Rnd 5: Sc 2, dec. around
Rnds 6-7: sc around
Rnd 8: sc 2, dec. around
Rnds 9-16: sc around, FO
Now about joining the legs, what you need to do is sl st through both the legs twice and then continue around the perimeter of the legs.
Body-
Rnds 17-19: sc around
Rnd 20: sc 4, dec. around
Rnds 21- 28: sc around
Rnd 22: sc 3, dec. around
Rnd 23: sca round. FO
Arms (make two)-ch 2, sc 5 in second ch from hook.
Rnd 1: inc around
Rnds 2-3: sc around
Rnd 4: sc 2, dec. around
Rnds 5-18: sc around. FO and sew to body
Head- ch 2, sc 6 in second ch from hook.
Rnd 1: inc 2, sc. around
Rnd 2: inc 2, sc 2. around
Rnds 3-9: sc around
Rnd 10: sc 2, dec. around
Rnd 11: sc, dec. around FO and sew to body

ReplyDeleteI stumbled with your pattern, and for me its a bit difficult to follow, You should say how many stitches aprox are in each row, like (6) (12) ect. That way it can be easily followed, I had a hard time cause I didint know what I was stitching, so I had to come up with personal numbers. And its very stressfull.

Not sure if you do this, but I find that using stitch markers to show where the beginning of the row is helped me a lot with making this (and other similar toys). Although you can buy them at places like Walmart or local yarn shops, you can make them yourself with no trouble. You could even use a small paper clip to mark the place... they don't have to be anything fancy!

ReplyDeleteMy head turned out weird and long and I'm not sure I like it. Everything else was awesome though! I think I'm gonna redo it with a larger more round head so it looks more like your picture cuz I like the look of that better.

ReplyDeleteInc = increase or two stitch in one stitch. Dec = decease. These are basic crochet abbreviations. Any others ones you need can easy be found on goggle by looking up crochet abbreviations. :)

I had left off crocheting for several years now in favour of cross stitch, but found Arigurumi dolls when searching for a birthday present/Mother's Day gift lately, and stumbled across your pattern! I'm sure mine's all wonky and mis-stitched and deliciously unique (XD), but I believe I found a mistake? It's just numbers - in the stitching of the body, you have written 'Rnds 21- 28: sc around' but then the next directions say 'Rnd 22' and 'Rnd 23.' I was really confused that I was doing something wrong for a while until I realized. Hopefully the rest of my stitching will conform to your pattern and turn out as nicely as yours did!
